We wanted to share a quick update regarding routine security maintenance we recently completed across our network.
A critical vulnerability affecting PHP—the core scripting language that powers WordPress and roughly 70% of the web was recently disclosed across the industry. Because we monitor these advisories closely, we were able to act immediately.
If you are using 368 Durham as your website host – There is no action required on your end. Your site remains safe, stable, and monitored.
If you are using a third party host please check and confirm you have been patched and protected.
Service providers were notified before the public and were able to patch this exploit. We patched our systems yesterday morning.
As an added layer of protection – almost all of our websites use Cloudflare which is a service that sits between your Domain and Website. Cloudflare published a patch yesterday protecting any websites regardless of where they are hosted. This provides two layers of protection.
If you have any additional questions please let us know. I’m always happy to provide more information or just chat about your website.
If you are running an older website – it may be worthwhile talking about updating or upgrading it and I’d be happy to schedule a call when you are available.
