Project: Kwik Signs
Role: Web Design & Digital Strategy Focus: B2B Manufacturing, Large Format Portfolio, Client File Workflows, Corporate Compliance (AODA)
Project Overview Kwik Signs, a leader in the Canadian signage industry for over 40 years, required a digital presence that matched their manufacturing capabilities. The goal was to shift the brand perception from a local “print shop” to a national infrastructure partner capable of executing massive rollouts for franchises and developers. The new website focuses on validating their capacity—showcasing everything from 50-foot pylon signs to complex vehicle fleet wraps—while streamlining the technical intake process for their B2B clients.
Key Deliverables & Features
- Enterprise Portfolio Showcase:
- Scale Validation: To attract large-scale contracts, the “Projects” section is segmented by complex categories like “Architectural Signage,” “Wayfinding,” and “Fleet Graphics.” High-resolution imagery of massive installations (e.g., Tim Hortons, REMAX) serves as immediate social proof of their ability to handle high-stakes corporate accounts.
- Material Education: Dedicated pages for “Channel Letters” and “Digital Displays” explain the manufacturing materials and LED technologies used, positioning Kwik Signs as technical consultants rather than just order takers.
- Streamlined Client Workflows:
- High-Volume File Uploads: Recognizing that their clients (designers, architects) deal with massive file sizes, we implemented a robust “Upload Files” workflow. This allows users to send heavy vector artwork (AI, EPS) directly through the site without using third-party transfer tools, integrating seamlessly with the production team’s pre-press workflow.
- Service & Maintenance Portals: A dedicated section for “Service & Installation” captures inquiries for sign repair and maintenance, diversifying revenue beyond just new builds.
- Corporate Compliance & Trust:
- AODA Accessibility: As a vendor for government and major corporate bodies, the website was built to meet strict AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) standards, ensuring the digital experience is accessible to all users—a key requirement for municipal tenders.
- Sustainability Messaging: The “Our Story” section highlights their investment in HP Latex “Green” printing technology, appealing to corporate clients with strict environmental procurement mandates.
The Outcome The new Kwik Signs website serves as a powerful bid-support tool. It successfully validates their status as a national manufacturer, streamlines the flow of technical production files, and helps them secure high-value contracts with property developers and national franchises.
