Project: Janet Lange Art & Design
Role: Web Design & Digital Strategy Focus: Event & Camp Registration, Personal Branding, Art Education, Community Engagement
Project Overview Janet Lange, a beloved art educator in the Clarington area with over 20 years of experience, needed a digital home that reflected her vibrant, child-friendly approach to creativity. The challenge was to move away from manual sign-ups and create a centralized hub for her popular Summer and March Break camps, which often take place at partner locations like Knox’s Pumpkin Farm. The new site captures her personal brand—”Making Colour Come Alive”—while streamlining the registration process for parents.
Key Deliverables & Features
- Camp & Workshop Registration Engine:
- Seasonal Booking System: The core function of the site is to handle the high demand for her seasonal camps. We built a clear “Registration 2026” portal that allows parents to view camp details, pricing ($299/week), and secure their child’s spot online, replacing paper forms and cash payments.
- School Workshop Booking: A dedicated B2B section allows teachers to book specific curricula like “Music, Feelings & Colour Theory” or “Sculpture” for their classrooms, expanding her business beyond just summer camps.
- Personal Branding & Storytelling:
- “Young at Heart” Aesthetic: The design reflects Janet’s philosophy (“Do something you cannot imagine being paid for”). We used a playful, colorful visual language that appeals to both children and parents, distinguishing her program from rigid, academic art schools.
- Social Proof Slider: A dynamic testimonial section (“Art camp is the best week of the summer!”) highlights reviews from both parents and long-term campers, reinforcing the trust she has built in the community over two decades.
- Service Diversification:
- Face Painting & Events: Distinct pages showcase her services for festivals and birthday parties, ensuring that event planners can easily find and book her for “on-location” work.
- Student Placement Portal: A unique section for “Student Placements” demonstrates her commitment to mentorship, offering pathways for older students to become art assistants, which helps staff her growing camps.
The Outcome The new Janet Lange Art & Design website is a joyful, functional platform that matches the energy of her classes. It effectively automates the administrative heavy lifting of camp registration, allowing Janet to focus on what she does best: teaching art and inspiring creativity in kids.
