Project: Bounce Volleyball Academy (BVA)
Role: Web Design & Digital Strategy Focus: Youth Sports Development, Academy Management, Athletic Therapy Integration, Event Scheduling
Project Overview Bounce Volleyball Academy, a non-profit organization serving Scarborough and Pickering, required a digital home that reflected their “athlete-first” philosophy. Unlike standard recreational leagues, BVA focuses on high-performance youth development and injury prevention. The new website was designed to manage the complex logistics of REP and Select teams while serving as an educational hub for parents and athletes, emphasizing long-term health alongside competitive success.
Key Deliverables & Features
- Academy & Team Management:
- Dynamic Roster Showcase: Dedicated pages for each competitive team (e.g., “Bounce Nation,” “Bounce Electric”) allow coaches to highlight player rosters and achievements, fostering team pride and professionalism.
- Centralized Season Calendar: A robust, filterable calendar system consolidates training schedules, tournament dates, and “blackout” days, giving parents a single source of truth for their child’s complex athletic schedule.
- Athletic Therapy & Education Integration:
- Health-First Content: Uniquely for a youth club, the site features an “Athletic Therapy” section. It promotes the academy’s partnership with The Canada House, educating parents on injury prevention and “pain-free living,” differentiating BVA as a club that cares about the whole athlete.
- Resource Access: Easy access to health resources and self-care education helps athletes manage the physical demands of the sport.
- Streamlined Registration Ecosystem:
- Program Segmentation: Distinct pathways for “REP Academy,” “Selects,” and “Beginners” guide users to the appropriate skill level, reducing administrative confusion during tryout seasons.
- Tryout Management: Integrated forms and clear “Tryout Window” policies ensure compliance with Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) regulations, making the stressful tryout process smoother for families.
- Community & Brand Identity:
- Merchandise Portal: An integrated “Apparel Store” allows players and fans to purchase branded gear (hoodies, jerseys), building club culture and generating auxiliary revenue.
- Scarborough Roots: The “Who We Are” section emphasizes the club’s commitment to diversity and the local community, connecting the digital brand to its physical home in the GTA.
The Outcome The new Bounce Volleyball website has professionalized the club’s online presence, matching the high caliber of its coaching. It successfully manages the heavy scheduling demands of competitive youth sports while clearly communicating the academy’s unique value proposition of health-conscious athletic development.
